Default Purchase 1999 911

I am considering buying a 1999 911 from a private party that appears to be in very good condition-2 owner 45k miles. The car has been in a northern state since delivery and I would normally not look at a northern car due to salt, road issues etc. The car is represented to be garaged and never driven in snow or salt but if I buy the car I will have to rely on the Porsche dealer for a pre-purchase inspection as to corrosion issues. Any suggestions, thoughts? Thanks

11 years old, 4k miles a year, I would plan on having the LN engineering IMS bearing upgrade done on the car for sure. So factor that and a new clutch into the negotiating price (figure about $3k for the parts/labor).

Default Your advice

Do you have any advice on a 911 that is a northern car but represented as always garaged? Is there any inspection that could determine if salt/corrosion is a problem? Thanks
