considering a 1999 911 carrera for purchase
theres a good chance i can get a 1999 911 996 carrera 2wd for a great price. it was my uncle's until his death one month ago. i would be purchasing from the family estate. he had $3000 worth of options, the car was wrecked once (hood, front left light and wheel, front left quarter damaged) and repaired by dealership. in that repair he upgraded the wheels and headlights.
im told the value is $15k-$20k and will fall on the lower end due to the wreck. since it's in the family i may be able to squeeze in lower than the $15k.
the car has sat at least 3 years and the battery is dead preventing a check of the digital odometer. whats the best/safest way to provide enough electricity to check the mileage?
whats the best way to find a Porsche authorized independent mechanic in my area?
i have referred to the recently published 996 buyers guide which was substantially helpful.
thank you in advance for your replies and advice
