would you buy a factory demo 997?
Hi everyone - there's a used '07 997 C2 demo for sale here thatwas a car that Porsche showed off at Porsche Drive Experience events. It has been driven on the track by a professional driver. I was told that it is a car that has been broken in by Porsche drivers and feels like an S because of that (broken in correctly) . Is there any truth to this? It only has 8k on it and they are selling at a decent, not great, price. It's super clean, has been maintained byPorsche dealer, and still has the balance of the factory warranty (another 3 years, 3 months). Should I be concerned that it was run hard on the track or since it was maintained by Porsche should I not worry? Car has a clean carfax and was never titled. They call it a factory demo. Any advice is greatly apprecitated!

The cars are meant to be driven hard, so I wouldn't let basic track time scare you away, especially if it was with a controlled driver. I would still want a PPI done by another shop before buying though.

The fact it was driven at track events should not deter you, but a PPI is essential. Also, don't believe the bit about it having been worn in right meaning it has the power of an S: being worn in right means it has the power it was designed to have, nothing more. I'd put little stock in anything else the person that told you that crock tells you in the future.
