Default Break pad

I recently sned my wife Mercedes to the dealer for service, the dealer told me her break is "Out of Specification" When I ask what do you mean by out of spcification, they told me the front has 7mm left which is OK, but the back has 4mm left which is out of specification. I believe the concept of the break pad should pretty much work the same way. Anyone can give me some advice - is 4mm too low already?
Also, wants to find out the specification of the Porsche break.
Thanks
Tin

Default RE: Break pad

4mm is getting pretty thin, so they probably do need to be replaced, as it will trigger the brake wear sensors soon.
