Dual Battery System in Cayenee, More Info
Hi Porsche Doc and everyone,
I just found my Cayenne has 2 batteries. I guess the back one is for starting
and other for general use. Does anyone have more info? Having 2 batteries
double the time or capacity to discharge for use or if one is away from their
car? Both battery are quite heavy duty. Anyway to know if a battery has
gone bad?
So far, the lights are bright when I open the doors However there was a
few months I was away, thus now I have it on a trickle charge. Also, if I
need to replace the battery Odyssey batteries have a longer staying power
than Porshce OEM battery. Thank you for your help and detailed description.
All the best,
Miracle

Absolutely do not put a porsche OEM battery back in. They are junk. Get an optima, or any quality battery from your local parts store. Interstate, walmart, autostart, etc

Thank you Porsche Doc and everyone for your message.
Based on my research Odyssey, Optima, Diehard are the best batteries.
Does anyone know who makes Porsche OEM batteries? Everyone I run
into states they do not if anyone who needs to changea battery yet, I assume
this because most Cayenne are driven are regular basis vs. 911 which some
only drive when the weather is favorable.

Hello everyone,
Any issues placing a AGM battery like Optima/Odysessy as a stater battery,
and regular wet acid battery for general use in a dual battery system Cayenne?
In everyday use, will one battery overcharge or undercharge? Thank you!
