i recently purchased a 2001 911 carrera cabrio that has a baffle loose inside the left muffler causing an irratating rattle which i'm beginning to think is common with this model after reading other threads in this forum. i called a dealer and there are 2 different part #'s, one for the tiptronic and 1 for the manual. does anyone know what the difference is between the two. the parts man had know idea. i know several 911 owners put aftermarket exhaust systems on there cars so i'm looking for a left side muffler for an 01 tiptronic if someone will cut me a good deal. thanks, russell.

 

You can probably put on a set of aftermarket cans for what a new muffler will cost you. I would scour ebay, there are usually stock mufflers on there for cheap. I have never noticed a difference between the tip or 6 speed.
