Default Need advice

Can I please get some advice from the seasoned porsche owners please? I had my mind set on buying a 198x 944, but now the 924 models are growing on me. What is the better model to go with for a first porsche owner? Which one is going to be more for the backyard mechanic to work on instead of having to take it to the shop? Thanks for the help.

Is it a late 70's, early 80's 924, r is it an '87-'88 924S? The later model ones are cool, but the early ones are pretty much dogs (no offense intended to those of you who are fans of the cars...). They have poor performance and poor resale value. My personal opinion is to go for a 944, you'll find a lot more support for them, both in parts availability and advice on forums.

Regards,

The later 924S is essentially a 944 mechanically with a 924 body. So if it's the body style that you like, go for the later 924S.
