Default new girl needs advice

I have had my 99 Boxter since it was a brand new baby. The battery went dead. Got that fixed. Now my radio won't accept the code. Any ideas on how or why. I asked the dealership and they pretty much scratched their heads and said sounds like the radio is broken. Thanks guys. I reallly miss my music. Got any ideas or am I stuck with buying a new radio because my battery died.

Are you sure it is the correct code, or it just will not accept any number input at all?

The code is correct. When I enter the code, the "stars" dissappear and then it goes back to the enter code screen. However, I can enter any number and the same thing happens.

Since you have had the car since new, I take it there has never been any radio work done in the past? A lot of times the radios get swapped out by previous owners, which means the code in the booklet doesn't work for that radio. Since you are the original owner though, I guess we can rule that out. You may want to have the dealer pull the radio out and look up the serial number in their system just in case the card was misprinted or something. They will have the radio code for that serial number on the side of the radio on file in their system.
