Default 1976 911S fuel system question.

I'm trying to get a 76 911S running and have gotten the problem down to fuel delivery (it's the CIS fuel injection system). Right now, the problem I am running into is that when you put the car in key on, the fuel pump relay closes and takes power away from the fuel pump. Is this normal? I would think that the fuel pump would be running in key on.

Default RE: 1976 911S fuel system question.

I figured it out and understand how it works now. On the K-jetronic injection system, what are some common problems for why the system won't bleed. I can get fuel to come out of in fuel line right before it goes into the regulator and filter, but I can't get it to come out from the injector line when I disconnect it from the injector. I am going to check the reg and filter, but other then that, anything else?

warm up regulator, check it, they often go bad and they are quite pricey so hope that its not that, also check the diaphram in the fuel distributor, if you are bleeding the system correctly and there is no fuel coming out it is either that there is no fuel leaving the tank or there is a restriction, check it out and tell me what you find
