Default 1980 SC starting problem

Recently I've been having an intermittant starting problem. When I turn the key, the fuel pump activates, but it doesn't turn over. This happens only every now and then, such as after I've driven a bit. If I leave it sitting and it started while sitting, it will continue to start...sort of like there's a short or a loose connection. I checked the battery and starter solenoid connections, both are good. I was thinking maybe it could be the solenoid ground, where does it ground to? Any other ideas or suggestions? Thanks
