Default 911 engine swap options...

Hi, I had a question about swapping out my current 2.7 for another 2.7 or possibly a newer motor? I have a 1976 911 which has a Euro spec 1974 motor, 911/83(unfortunately I live in CA and this does not allow smog equipment to be installed) and therefore I'm forced to replace the motor. I'm seeking advice as to whether I should installa 2.7L motor from another 911 or possibly upgrade to a 3.0 or 3.2?How much needs to be replaced if Iupgrade to a 3.0 or 3.2? Wire harness, brain, any modifications etc...? Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated! THANKS!

Brian
