Default 911 project car

1st post. I have been reading the forums and think this is a great site. I am planning on a 911 project car. I am wanting to find a late 70's to early 80's 911 SC roller, and am curious as to what I might expect to pay. I would rather have a car that is complete, or has everything except the engine. I thought if it had a bad engine in it, it would give me something to start with. I would really like to find a 911 SC Widebody, but figure those might be hard to find as a roller. Any thoughts or input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Emerald

Best bet is you can afford togo anywhere to get it is ebay or craigslist. On craigslist.org go to every large city in America and type in "Porsche 911" and see what pops up.All big cities in Californiaare a hot spot for 911's, also Dallas and Houston, TX. If you go east you start seeing rusty rollers. But you can repair anything. Try the NewYork, Connecticut areas too.Be sure to check both craigslist categories (cars for sale as well as parts for sale) Ebay has them too but might take a while to win the auction. Also go to all the Porsche clubs with an internet site that has a classified section. That would have the most honest people wanting to help other Porsche fans by selling their personal Porsche stuff.

Good Luck
remember its like a savings account with 4 wheels

Thanks for the suggestions. Any idea of price range I am looking at? Fair price for say 78 911 SC roller.

Thanks again for the input.

Cheers,
Emerald

I would say for a good condition roller, 6-8k is going to be a fair price.
