So I pose this question. If you had $45k to spend, what year and model 911 would you purchase?

Now is that 45k total, or do you have some money set aside for maintenance?

At 45k, I am saving a couple thousand more and looking really hard at a 996 based GT3.

Other good options would be a 996TT or a 997 C2/4

The GT3 will depreciate much slower than the other 2.

Well, the problem is that it has to have a backseat. I am "moving up" from a Corvette so I can't get another two-seater. Granted the back seat isn't much, but it is big enough to pick my son up from daycare in. Leaning towards a 997 C2S. As much as I'd love a Turbo, I'm not sure I need it. Would like to keep insurance payment to within reason and I have a feeling that a C2S would be plenty. 50k is my max, 45k for the car and figuring around 5k for extended warranty. I read your buyers guide, figure if I can find something with less than 20k miles, maintenance shouldn't be an issue. At least not for a couple years, I doubt I put 5k miles a year on the car. Maybe 3k.

997 C2 would definitely fit the bill and they are a ton of fun. Good luck with your hunt!
