Default Help with removing instrument cluster

I'm having trouble removing the emergency flasher switch in my 2002 C2, so I can get to the screw behind it. The instructions say to pinch the tab and pull the switch out from the front, but it won't come out. The retainer clip is all the way next to the switch and I am pulling the switch with flat-nose pliers. The switch body corners seem to be interfering slightly though with the plastic bezel.

I was told to remove the bezel first, but that doesn't come out either. I've tried prying it out, but it won't budge.

Can anyone tell me what to try next?
