Default Opinion: 1984 vs 1988 Targa?

If both in similar excellent condition and price, which would you purchase? Does the later 1988 have a better, improved clutch? Is one better mechanically over the other (roof or engine leaks, ect)? Any info and opinions appreciated.

I would definitely choose the 88 just for the hydraulic clutch and G50 gearbox.

The wise used Porsche advice is, when all other factors are equal, buy the newest 911 you can afford....
