Default Should I buy a used or rebuilt my tranny

I'm new to this forum. I have a long story but make it short. I have a 75 5sp 911 and said to say I've work on other models cars just as a hobby not a pro. I can pick up pretty quick.

My question is i'm sitting on my car i bought a while back and it was having tranny problems with going into 2nd gear. I paid this a.......hol to fix it and he said he fixed it but didn't. After a while making phone calls I found out that he just did a quick repair and took my money.

After repairing it i drove it for a few day and the tranny got stuck into 4th gear and won't come out of 4th gear. It's been almost a 7 months and now i'm ready to fix this bad boy.

any advice. his receipt states he put in used 2nd gear set, trans gasket set, syncro ring, 1-2nd shift sleeve, snap ring, 3rd and 4th shift sleeve, syncro ring, lock nut, synthetic gear oil.

This says anything to you professionals out there?

can this be an eay fix and how much?

Are there many problems with 911 trannys?

Would my tranny be the 915? or are there other models? I've been search and haven't found information yet.

Thanks.
