Default Should I or shouldn't I????

Here is the age old question.. Took delivery of my 2007 Targa 4 last week.. A pure joy to drive.. The dealer didn't mount the front license place bracket..So.. should I leave it off or install it.. New York requires both license plates to be installed with nothing covering them.. So far the local police have not said a thing to me.. ShouldI wait to be stopped and then install the front plate?? What are you all doing??

Thanks in advance..

I was stopped in my 2002 C4S for expired tags. The front plate was behind the seat with the bracket. If he had asked I would've whined about not having the correct hardware.

It never came up and I was never stopped in that car again.

Same here! Took delivery on midnight blue2007 911 Carrera S Cabriolet three weeks ago, and dealer suggested going without front plate as they were not hearing problems from other customer. I have decided to try it as cosmetically the car looks better to me without the bracket, and so far no problems. I think we might even have taken delivery from same dealer as I live in Castleton N.Y.(Langan). Congrats on your car and see ya on the road!

Don't do it. The car looks much better without the front plate [sm=yikesomg.gif]

Default euro plates

just picked up a 2003 c4s and it's front plate was dented. Since the holes are already there I decided to order a euro plate with the same numbers as the real plates. Anyone heard of it being a felony to run a foreign plate on your car? Ex police detective said it was a felony? Sounds like crap to me. Plus it isn't a foreign plate it is a custom made plate. Although it is the same shape as the euro plate and has a German seal on it....

People run around with custom euro plates all the time, but it is usually in states that do not require you to have a front and rear state license plate. Here in Kansas we only have to run a rear plate, and can put on whatever on the front. Not sure if you would get hassled in another state. Really it comes down to if the local cops want to be jerks or not.

In VA not having a front tag is a secondary offense. They can't pull you over for it - but if you are already pulled over they can add it to the fine - I think it's $70 or $80.

Very much worth it for me to not add the plate. I think it looks much better without.
