I have a 1992 964 which has done 40,000 miles and I use occasionally. When I got it out
of the garage yesterday and drove off it gave out about a dozen rapid, shrill beeps from
under the dash. Less than a minute later a cloud of acrid smoke came out of the
dashboard vents. I stopped and checked under front and rear lids but there was no smell
and nothing seemed amiss, so I left it on the drive. Luckily it was still in one piece this
morning.

Any ideas?

 

Try to post this on the 964 board on rennlist.com. Those guys should be able to troubleshoot this for you.

The smoke was the heater fan and the beeps have disappeared too!
