Default What oil to use?? 911SC 1983

Hi all,

I just purchased a 1983 911 SC and do not know what oil to use in it! Does anyone know what is recommended? It currently has 160k miles on it and does not seem to burn any oil. It does have a little bit of a leak that I have not investigated yet. Should I use synthetic? What do you guys think about synthetic blend?

No point to run synthetic if it has run standard oil all it's life. Also the tolerances of the older engines is not nearly as tight as they are in todays engines which require synthetic.

20w-50 castrol is a good standard oil to use.
