I found a Porsche 924 that has been sitting for 13 years. I just have a few questions if anyone has any ideas;

1. The manufacture date is December 1976, and also the manual I found in the glove compartment says model "76'", but being manufactured in December would that make it just an early 1977 Porsche 924? The main reason for this is the rarity of the 1976's in America, it's one of those to good to be true types of things.

2. The current last owner of the Porsche talked about how after driving it for awhile then turning it off would be fine, but when he only had it off for a few minutes let's say to eat and came back to the Porsche it wouldn't start. Almost as if it had over heated, anyone happen to know what problem this would be?

3. What are more common problems with the Porsche 924?

I do know the basic background history of the Porsche 924 and how cheaply it was made in all senses, but again this is just a barn find and I'm really big into these cars and now I finally have one in my grasp.

Being it is a CIS system, my guess is it uses a fuel accumulator like the 911's. Very typical hot no start issues are due to bad accumulators. My CIS 924 knowledge is pretty much zero, but that is where I would start. Not sure about the year though. To be honest, you will pump a lot more money into it than it is worth. A car that has sat for 13 years will be a money pit. My guess is the entire fuel system will be clogged up.
