I am a bit worried on which oil to use on my 87 924S. I got Havoline 10w-40, a little thicker than the 10w30 I use on the rest of my cars mostly because the Porsche runs hotter. Once I get the oil leak fixed, I will probably switch to something nicer, but... Afraid of synthetic- it's scary how close the oil and the coolant are to each other all the time in these engines-

So... I guess the point is...

What do you all run for oil in your 2.5 naturally aspirated 4 popper?

 

I would stick with 20w-50 in the motor. I just run castrol dino oil in most of the 924/944 lines i work on. Once in awhile a owner runs mobil 1, but not often.

 

Castrol Dino oil? Can you tell me more about that?

 

lol, sorry, to confuse. It is just standard castrol gtx oil, not synthetic.
