Default Timing belt

Hi there, I just bought an 86 944, and as part of the purchase have accounted for getting a new timing belt right off the bat. I'd like to know what the current going price range is to have that, the water pump and the rollers replaced. Parts and labor.. I found a great mechanic that knows what he is doing, but I think he might be charging too much, so I jsut wanted the consensus on price these days. Thank you.

Default RE: Timing belt

About a month ago I had replaced the timing belt, pump, counter shaft belt, all rollers, front crankshaft and counter crankshaft seals, the radiator + oil change ---all of this for $1300 ( $ 100 of this are taxes). I leave in NY state.

In the same time, I checked the records from the previous owner and he had paid for the same service ( without the radiator) $ 4000 in LA, CA - 4 years ago.

So, it is a pretty wide range

Good luck !

Labor is 10 hours. Parts from an online store would be about $550. From a dealer or independant shop, at least twice that.
