Default Trans swap

Howdy, I've got an '84 944 and its an automatic trans[:'(]. I really hate automatics and want to swap it to a manual. How hard would this be? Does this car use a hydraulic clutch? What all would need to be changed? I've done numerous engine swaps, so a the mechanic part of the swap wont be hard.

Default RE: Trans swap

It uses a master clutch cylinder (mounted on the firewall) which feeds off the master brake reservoir, then a line runs to the clutch slave cylinder which is mounted on the bellhousing. Lot of work to make it happen, but i imagine like anything else it can be done. You could need to change out the bellhousing, get all of the clutch kit, clutch fork, pivot shaft, guide tube, etc. Car isn't worth the money in my opinion. Drive what you have enjoy it, when you get tired of it, sell it and get a 5 speed. You will save yourself a lot of money.
