Default Transmission/driveline coupler

Anyone have any idea how to get the coupler to separate from the transmission. I removed both bolts and it will not budge.

a large prybar. Wiggling the tranny while doing so helps as well.

Karl, you usually pry the coupler back towards the tranny, rather forward towards the torque tube, right? Also, make sure you do this before you loosen the tranny mount bolts or you will NEVER get it off, it responds poorly to perpenicular stresses.

Well I already loosened the mounting bolts and lowered the trans a bit. I put the trans back to its original position and no luck.

Can lowering the trans, with the coupler still attached, bend the drive line?

Holy crap no. Dont drop the tranny with the coupler attached, the driveline doesnt bend.....well it will, and then you will need a new torque tube. To answer scotts Q, you pry the coupler back towards the transmission. You completely removed the 2 bolts correct, not just loosened them? PUt a couple of your tranny bolts back in and snug them up, then get a big pry bar and try again. Seriously, i have used very large crowbars to get it to pop back. Getting it to line up going back in is more fun.
