If you don't know what you are looking for, take it to a porsche mechanic before buying it....Prepurchase Inspection.

Also be wary of body damage, it can be very expensive to repair. Make sure all the body lines are straight (hood lining up, trunk shutting all the way, the headlight lines being straight) if they aren't there's a chance of the vehicle being in an accident and not being fixed properly. Good luck and let us know what you get!

What is the history of the timing belt. If it has not been done recently, get that done before driving the car at all.

Yeah. Generally a major thing is the documentation accompanying the car. I actually learned more about my 83 944 by the documentation that came with it than what carfax had. I can actually trace every last service and everything since it was BUILT! Gotta love meticulous owners.

How often does the timing belt need to be changed? Is there anything else that needs to be changed with it?
