I have a 1986 944. It black with black interior and is 5sd. The motor leaks oil and has some sort of clanking coming internally from the motor no idea what it might be... The body is ok condition just has 1 dent in the front passenger fender. Also has a cracked windshield.Has a set of Fuch wheels in good condition Interior is good except for the seats. The need to be upholsterd or new ones. THe car has 220k. Transmission is in good condition. Car doesn't rattle when driving and still handles fairly well. What do you think the price of selling this should be..? I am hoping close to 6 or 7 hundred? any ideas? just need to getrid of it!!!!!!!

 

I just spent twice what my 87 944 was worth is engine repairs and shock replacement, alignment and various other items. Why? because it is the "best" 944 in Florida now. Sounds like yours is ready to upchuck the engine belt and other items could well cost the prospective buyer more than it would be worth. If I wasn't attached to the car emotionally, I'd recommend parting it out or biting the bullet and donating it for a tax write off in '07. Either way, good luck with this.
