Winter driving

How do these cars handle in the snow? I have my eye on a car that will need a new paint job, so I figure I could paint it in a yr or two. In the meantime, I would have to drive it in the snow if I did get it, as I would have to sell my daily driver in the meantime. I would put snow tires on it to help?

P.S. Also, what kind of mileage do they get with normal driving? This is a non turbo 85'. Thanks

They suck in the snow.
Fat, low-profile tires and too much Hp makes them skate around.

Of course if you leave the summer tires or even A/S tiresin placeyou will have a lot of trouble in the snow. You can run a good set of snow tires on all four corners with a narrower profile steel wheel (like a 5.5) and get pretty acceptable results.

If your engine is in good shape and is properly tuned it is possible to get30MPG or more on the highway. Normal driving should deliver a consistent 25MPG.
