Default oxygen sensor problem

Hi.
Im wondering if anybody has a solution for my problem.
I have an 01 boxster s with 39000km with all regular service done as per schedule
however my engine service light goes on.
i had the technician check it and he said i have 4 sensors attached to the exhaust and 2 need to be replaced with a total cost of labour and parts of over 1000.00

in order to avoid this hefty cost i spoke to a second technician and he said try changing your gas octaine from sunoco 94 to ie esso 91 or petro 91 etc.
i tried this and ithelps a bit,as the check engine light now goes on some times and not as constant as before

another technician said try to remove the two sensors and clean them out with carburator cleaner asa quick fix, which i havnt tried yet.

any thoughts on a quick fix or do i have nochoice but to buy two new sensors now?

Thanks
