Default Silly but Satisfying

Very early this morning I was headed to work in my Porsche when a gold Lexus SC430 (the jelly-bean looking retractable hardtop thing) pulled alongside in the left lane and made like he wanted to play. I ignored him and drove on steadily and he zipped off. A block ahead the light was red and he was waiting. I shifted the Tiptronic into 1st (starts out in 2nd normally) and waited. I figured if he wanted a go I would do it up to a decent speed. The light went green and I got on it a bit, not really tearing off (don't want to embarrass myself by acting stupid if he's not going to start a race) but getting the speed on -- about 60% -- and it soon became clear his car was at max. I stayed alongside, just barely easing ahead, until 25 mph and then floored it. Very satisfying - my car just left him behind, quickly, but I think he was close enough (about 8 lengths back) to see the wing float up as I passed 75 (sort of the automobile equivalent of raising a finger, I imagine).

Of course it was no contest: a 320 HP, 3170 lb car against a 300 HP, 3800 lb car, but it was very satsifying, and everyone should know I upheld the honor and reputation of the marque against another Japanese imposter.

Nicely done Lee, if my car was bad *** I'd have done the same thing.

It's not like the Soarer 4.3 is much a racing legend. If you have ever driven one the suspention feels like that of a mid-80's truck (as would be at this date, destroyed and poor at best. Begging to roll on a 20mph slolom), and its 4.3L V8 is pretty much a joke when used in conjunction with that particular tranny. Under tuned and barly usable its another situation where "fast" is in the eyes of the blind. Yet another wet dream of the ricers that just isn't up to par.

In other words:
It's a luxury car, not weekend warior
