Default Cooling Fan sensor?

i have recently bought a 1982 porsche 944 that has had some restoration done. It has been resprayed but when it was stripped and put back together some wires and connections were not connected back up.I can drive the car and it idles ok but when you accelerate when driving it it seems to lack power? i have noticed that the cooling fan sensor on the radiator has not been re connected, could this be the cause of lack of power and will it cause damage to the car if not re connected?

Default RE: Cooling Fan sensor?

No, that sensors only activates the radiator fans (it should be connected so the car doesn't overheat). Could be in need of basic tune up items like plugs, wire, cap, rotor, etc. Could also have bad gas in it.
