Boxster rpm
Hi,
I have a Boxster 2000. I recently noticed that when the car is parked with engine running RPM is at 0.5 RPM and does not stay at that point but goes up and down.
What could be the problem? Did anyone had this problem?
Thanks!

You message did not say how much RPM varies - it is natural for any engine to vary a slight amount, and that tends to increase as the car ages and a lot of the underhood hardware wears a bit. a variation of 10% or so is no big deal.
500 RPM as a baseline is a bit too low for any engine like a Porsche to idle.Given you car is 11 years old, it could be any of a number of things.
