After almost 3 years I finally picked up a 2002 4s Coupe with 23000 for $42200 with warranty. I even forgot that I had a login here.

Are there any differences between a 1999 996 and a 2002 996? Do the early 996s have any mechanical or body problems? I have noticed that soe of them are indeed priced lower than some 993s. Either of the cars are gorgeous - the 996 to me isn't as curvy... Anytime I see either of these, I look twice. For 45K, I think you can find something pretty sweet.

Yes the 1999-2001 while great 911's do have less power than the 2002 and forward 911's. The 2002 or newer is the more desireable car. Nothing wrong with the earlier 911's I had mine for 8 years and loved it. I do like the 325 hp 2002 new engine better. It has plenty of power.

Good luck on whatever you decide
