Default service records for my 911-964

hello,
first I´d like to introduce myself. I´m new to this forum and an owner of a `93 964 which I bought in the US in Febuary last year.
I got the carfax but not any service records although I´m sure the car has been regulary serviced.
It´s a ´93 Convertible,first registered in Michigan at 05/13/1993, the VIN is
WPOCB2961PS460194.
When I bought the 911 it was flood damaged but now it is in perfect condition.
I live in Germany and here it is really essential to have possibly all service records. Cause I don´t have any, I´d like to ask you, if there is any chance to get a proof for the maintenances.

Thank´s alot for any answers

Manfred

Unfortunately, more than likely not. If you can track down the previous owner and figure out which shop the car was serviced at, you might be able to call them and ask for any records they may have. Unfortunately, there is no national maintenance record database, and some dealers will not even release previous records to new owners, even if you were lucky enough to track down the previous shop that was used.

Your best solution would be to find the previous owner and talk to him.

thanks for the response guys,
but how can I find the previous owner. I bought the 964 from a dealer in New Jersey with a dealer title, the dealer got the car from an insurance company. I´m quite desparate. The only thing I know is where the Porsche was registered.
No ideas?

thank you in advance
Manfred

Well if you have a carfax, you should be able to see what state the car was last registered in before the insurance company got a hold of it. Then you can contact that state's DMV and request a title or registration history record. That will show you the previous owner of that car in that specific state. You should be able to get a name and last known address from it. Then try either sending that person a letter or try locating their phone number online and contacting them like that. IIRC it usually costs about 5-10 bucks to do a registration history request and takes a couple of weeks to get the results. From there, if they have records great, if not, they might be able to tell you where the car was serviced, and you could contact the shop directly.

You often have to do this type of process if you buy a vehicle that doesn't have a title, etc.

thank U so much. I´ll try my best and I hope the DMV will send the registration history record to my German address. Seems to be a difficult investigation.

Hello and welcome to the forum. Hope you will enjoy and have fun. I think you need to consult your previous owner and get all the detailed information related to the maintenance of your car.
