I got into my 88 and the clutch pedal went right to the floor. I looked under the dash and the pedal appears to be connected to the shaft. is there another linkage under the car that could have come undone? This is my 1st experience with a problem with the car. Thanks.

 

More then likely you have a bad clutch master and or slave. Replace both at the same time.
