Default Headlights won't stop

Hello,

I have a 1987 944 non-turbo, manual... and its metallic grey

The headlightsoften fail to stop cycling up/down when I turn them off completely, they just keep going up and down. Turning the headlight switch to "parking lights" mode stops them. They come up and lock in place fine, they just wont stay cycled off. Seems the longer they are up, the greater chance they will fail to stay closed.

Eventually they stop, however the time it takes is directly perportional to how many people are staring at me at the moment.

Where do I start on this? I didnt see any sensors out by the headlight assembly to check.

Thanks

G

Sounds like a bad relay or a loose connection at the headlight motor.

I have a headlight problem on my 83 as well. They close fine, but when i open them, they open all the way then fall to halfway open. I have no idea whats wrong.

That is most likely a linkage issue.

I agree, for the heck of it you may want to replace that relay as well. It sounds like that motor is working fine though..
